Philips HeartStart Data Messenger Software

HeartStart Data Messenger helps you move defibrillator event data to where they
need to be. It’s ideal for fire departments and EMS organizations who want to download defibrillator cases from their AEDs and forward them on to a central
data administrator or medical director for retrospective review on Event Review or Event Review Pro.

You can configure it to operate automatically in the background. Alternatively, you can configure it to be an easy-to-use wizard that guides you step by step in downloading, viewing and forwarding cases.

Product Features:

  • Can download ECG data from your defibrillator's data card or infrared (IR) port.
  • Can view data on your PC screen, print it, and erase your data card or defibrillator's internal memory.
  • After you download Data Messenger, First you must configure where you want the data to go.

How to Download Data from your Philips OnSite, FRx, FR2, FR3 or Forerunner AED:

1) If your AED has a data card in it (Forerunner, FR2 or FR3) you will need a computer that has a data card slot. If your computer doesn't have a data card slot that fits your data card you will need to purchase an external adapter - that are available from many TV and computer stores.

2) If you have the OnSite or FRx AED (or FR2 or FR3) you will need an Infrared reader (with cable is helpful). Plug the IR reader on the computer and let the software install. To download the data you will align the reader with the infrared port on the right side of the AED.

3) Download and Install the free Data Messenger from Philips website above. Configure it.

4) Start the Philips Data Messenger Manual Software

5) If you have a data card - insert the data card and follow the instructions on the screen to upload the data to your computer and print out the event.

6) If you have an AED with the infrared port, remove the pads from the AED and hold the blue I button down until it beeps three times and says "Administration". The OnSite will require you to press the blue button another time and will say Mode 1.

7) At this point you are ready to sync the AED with the IR reader - place it near the port and follow the instructions on the screen to transfer the data. Data Messenger can be configured to automatically print the report and email a file or pdf.

8) When you are finished, install good pads in the unit and the unit will be ready to be placed back into operation.
