Dynasyst - Orfitube

This is a component collection for Orfit's Dynasyst dynamic splinting system: Orfitube tubes and kits, tube adjusters, coil springs, spring wire and elastic thread. Only part of the set is Orfitubes themselves — the rest are the springs, adjusters and thread that complete a dynamic outrigger splint.

Orfitubes are the small tubes that guide elastic thread on a dynamic splint. The range includes a pack of 10 Orfitubes with 2 bending wires, a full Orfitube Kit, a single Orfitube adjuster sold as a pack of 5 with an Allen wrench, and an Orfitube Adjuster Kit — the adjusters set and hold the thread tension and angle.

The spring components are a wrist extension coil spring set (10 pieces: 5 left and 5 right), a knuckle bender coil spring set (10 pieces), and a 45 foot length of stainless steel spring wire for fabricating custom outriggers and spring components.

The elastic thread comes in three maximum resistance levels: 7 oz (200 g), 14 oz (400 g) and 21 oz (600 g), each in a 30 foot (10 m) length, so the clinician can grade the pull applied by the dynamic splint.

Hand therapists and orthotists use these parts when building and adjusting dynamic splints — for example flexion or extension outrigger splints after hand surgery or injury — where individual components wear out or a custom setup is being fabricated.
