Formal documented inspection by a competent person at least every 6–12 months; informal visual inspection by the user before each use.

Step into leg straps ‚Üí pull shoulder straps over head ‚Üí fasten chest strap ‚Üí tighten all straps snugly (one fist should fit between strap and body) ‚Üí connect dorsal D-ring for fall arrest.

Wear the harness ‚Üí attach shock-absorbing lanyard or self-retracting lifeline to the dorsal D-ring ‚Üí connect the other end to an approved anchor point rated for 5,000 lbs.

Most manufacturers specify 5 years from date of first use, but it can be less if damaged or exposed to chemicals/UV.
