Find answers to commonly asked questions below.
-
What evacuation chairs are in this collection?
Six of the 7 listings are Junkin Safety evacuation chairs, and one is a storage bag for the JSA-800 chair. The chairs are built to move people down stairs and out of buildings during an evacuation.
-
What models make up the JSA-800 range?
Most of the range is the JSA-800 family: the JSA-800 lightweight stairway rescue chair, the JSA-800-W 4-wheeled compact high-rise version, the JSA-800-EH with 41 inch extended handles, and the JSA-800-CON heavy-duty onboard airline version with 800 lb capacity. Alongside them are a 4-wheeled evacuation chair with extended telescoping handles and a confined space evacuation chair.
-
What is the airline version of the chair?
The CON model is the airline onboard chair — a heavy-duty version with an 800 lb stated capacity, made for moving passengers in aircraft aisles and confined onboard spaces. The confined space chair serves the same tight-space role in industrial and marine settings.
-
What do the extended handles do?
Extended and telescoping handles give the operators leverage and stance room on stairs: the JSA-800-EH carries 41 inch extended handles, and the telescoping model extends its handles for the stair carry.
-
Is everything in this collection a chair?
No — the seventh listing is the JSA-800-B Storage Bag, a protective bag for storing the JSA-800 chair. Evacuation chairs are staged in stairwells, high-rises, schools, hospitals, ships and aircraft so staff can evacuate people who cannot use stairs on their own.
