Find answers to commonly asked questions below.
-
What rotary evaporators are in this collection?
Five of the 7 listings are Scilogex rotary evaporators and two are accessory baths. The evaporators are the RE100-Pro (excluding glassware), the SCI100-Pro with vertical dry-ice condenser and motorized lift, the SCI100-Pro digital model, and the SCI100-S in dry-ice condenser and vertical coiled condenser versions with manual lifts.
-
How do the Pro and S models differ?
The SCI100-Pro models are the digital, motorized-lift versions (one specified with a vertical dry-ice condenser). The SCI100-S models use manual lifts and come with a dry-ice condenser or a vertical coiled condenser. The RE100-Pro is the other Pro model, listed without glassware.
-
What are the 5L baths in the set?
The two remaining listings are 5L baths — one for the SC100-Pro and one for the SCI100-S evaporator. The bath is the heated water or oil bath the evaporating flask sits in, sold separately here as a replacement or additional bath.
-
What is a rotary evaporator used for?
A rotary evaporator (rotovap) removes solvent from a sample under reduced pressure: the flask rotates in the heated bath while vapor condenses and is collected — a standard solvent-removal and concentration step in chemistry work.
-
Who uses rotary evaporators?
They are used in chemistry, pharmaceutical, university and research laboratories for solvent evaporation, sample concentration and distillation prep.
