One bottle of Water Preserver Concentrate treats a single 55-gallon drum of clear tap water and preserves it as safe drinking water for 5 years from the date you prepare it. It is made by 7C's Safety & Environmental and is registered with the U.S. EPA (EPA Reg. No. 61428-1), with sodium hypochlorite as the active ingredient.
Treatment takes a few minutes: rinse the drum, empty the bottle in, fill, seal and date it. Then leave the drum closed until the water is needed. It is a simple way for homes, schools and agencies to keep a long-term water reserve without refilling drums every year.
- 5-year storage: When used as directed, stored drinking water stays preserved for 5 years from the date of preparation.
- EPA registered: Registered with the U.S. EPA under Reg. No. 61428-1.
- Sized for one drum: The 0.73 fl. oz. 55-gallon size bottle is emptied in full into one empty 55-gallon drum, so there is nothing to measure.
- Lab tested: The manufacturer states it was laboratory tested for 10 years to establish its effectiveness.
- Check the USE BY date on the bottom of the bottle. Do not use the concentrate after that date. The 5-year storage cycle begins when Water Preserver is added to the water.
- Remove the safety seal from the cap. Do not use the product if the seal is broken or missing.
- Rinse the drum with regular clear tap water.
- Carefully remove the dropper tip and empty the entire bottle into the empty drum.
- Fill the drum with regular clear tap water, leaving space below the opening as shown on the label.
- Close all bungs and caps tightly. Use a bung wrench on drums.
- Invert or slosh the container several times to wet all inside surfaces.
- Write the preparation date and the date plus 5 years on the outside of the drum.
- Do not reopen the drum until the water is needed. If it is opened, re-treat the water per the package directions before returning it to storage.
Store the unopened concentrate in a cool place away from sunlight, in a locked area away from children. Read the full bottle label before use.

What kind of container should I use?
