Jorgensen Labs J1325A Enteral Feeding and Pill Crushing Syringe, 60cc
Insert tablets into this syringe with the plunger removed, and the rough grid on the end of the plunger and the end of the syringe barrel crushes the tablet. Medication can then be mixed and delivered through the same barrel instead of being crushed in one device and transferred to another.
The 60cc syringe is useful for enteral feeding through esophagostomy or gastrostomy tubes, and it has a much larger end nozzle than standard syringes, which suits thicker feeds and suspensions. It can also crush large tablets, then mix them with a carrier such as molasses to give to equine patients. The syringe can be cleaned and reused.
