The Humaniac Dual-Release Catch Pole (Jorgensen Laboratories J0140CN) is a professional animal capture and restraint pole manufactured by Animal Care Equipment & Services (ACES). Per the manufacturer's instruction sheet, the dual-release mechanism allows for either an instant release or a quick release, depending on the situation, so the handler can free the animal immediately in an emergency or loosen the noose in a controlled way for transfer.
The pole is built on a heavy-duty, lightweight anodized aluminum shaft with the cable running through the pole to form the noose at the working end. A protective bite guard at the pole head protects the animal's teeth, and the thick vinyl-coated noose is gentler on the animal than a bare cable. ACES offers the Dual-Release Catch Pole in 3, 4, and 5 ft lengths with a large noose; this listing is the 5 ft model.
