Purpose
Skil-Care’s Adjustable Heel-Float off-loads the heel by suspending it over an air cavity. This eliminates pressure to prevent the formation of pressure ulcers and aid in the healing of exisiting sores. The foot support is adjustable to accommodate a wide range of plantar flexion needs and has a firm insert for additional support. The Adjustable Heel-Float includes a gel pack that relieves pressure beneath the ankle and lower calf.

Application

1. Place patient’s foot inside the Adjustable Heel-Float. Make certain that the heel is suspended over the air cavity (Illustration A).

2. Secure the Velcro the ankle and toe straps as shown in illustration A.

3. Adjust the foot support straps to accommodate your patient’s plantar flexion needs (Illustration B).

Important
Remove the Heel-Float every 8 to 12 hours and check for ischemia or discoloration.

Easy Care/Completely Launderable

The Adjustable Heel-Float may be washed and dried at temperatures that do not exceed 180°F (82°F). Do not use bleach. Make certain to remove gel pack (Illustration C) and foot support insert (Illustration D) before laundering.
