Mangar Rhino — Supine Lifting Cushion for Floor-to-Bed Patient Transfer
The Mangar Rhino is an inflatable lifting cushion designed to lift a person in the supine position from the floor to the height of a bed or stretcher. It forms the lifting half of the Mangar Supine Transfer System and is powered by the Mangar Airflo Duo compressor.
Raising a fallen or immobile patient in the supine position reduces the manual handling force demanded of carers and provides a stable, controlled lift for the patient. Visual and audio cues make it easy to detect when each level of the Rhino is fully inflated.
The Rhino has been tested to a maximum user weight of 500 kg; the manufacturer notes that an individual risk assessment should be performed for each patient. It is used with the Mangar Swift transfer slide for lateral supine transfers.
