Does the PT Rail lock when its folded up against the wall?
No. There is not a distinct locking mechanism, the PT Rail features a tension hinge that holds the rail in position (even halfway up). It is not possible for the rail to inadvertently fall, causing an impact injury.
Can the PT Rail be installed outside?
Yes. We only recommend the stainless steel finish version for outdoor applications. It is built for full wet applications such as wet rooms, showers, and humidity. Note: the white finish is carbon steel.
Does the whole plate have to be secured to the studs or is drilling 2 bolts into the stud sufficient?
No. All 4 mounting points of the PT Rail must be secured to structural wood. The (supplied) lag bolts must be installed into structural wood framing. If the wall is concrete, appropriate wall anchors and bolts are required (not included).
