Bleeding Control Kits & Stations
Bleeding control stations put the tools for stopping life-threatening bleeding where an emergency actually happens — on the wall, in a marked cabinet, stocked to a defined standard. This collection brings together complete bleeding control kits, wall-mounted station cabinets, and the component supplies those stations are built from: windlass tourniquets in CAT, SAM XT, QuickTight and SWAT-T platforms, hemostatic and compressed gauze dressings, emergency trauma dressings, chest seals, and the gloves, shears, markers and blankets a stocked station carries.
Texas schools work to the station contents set out in Education Code §38.030 (HB 496) — a kit sized to treat eight or five injured people, placed in an easily accessible area and covered by a written traumatic-injury protocol. Facilities in every state use the same station model: a visible cabinet or case, a complete kit, and contents that match the protocol. Kits are organized in Standard, Intermediate and Premium tiers so a campus, plant or public building can stock to its protocol and its population, and individual components are here for inspection-driven restocking as supplies are used or expire.

Find answers to commonly asked questions below.
-
What does Texas law require in a school bleeding control station?
Education Code §38.030 (HB 496) requires every Texas public and charter campus to maintain a bleeding control station stocked with a kit containing tourniquets with a locking mechanism, chest seals and patient care cards in quantities to treat eight or five injured people (or quantities set by the superintendent), plus latex-free gloves, space emergency blankets, hemostatic gauze dressings, permanent markers, trauma shears, compression bandages, a hard-shell case and an emergency alerting device.
-
Where should a bleeding control station be placed?
In an easily accessible, visible location chosen by your safety committee — the statute expressly allows stations where AEDs are stored, and co-locating bleeding control with the AED cabinet puts both life-safety stations on the same wall. Gyms, cafeterias, front offices, athletic facilities and shop areas are the common placements.
-
What is the difference between Standard, Intermediate and Premium kits?
The tiers describe the contents, not the quality: Standard kits cover the core statutory items, Intermediate kits add upgraded components such as premium dressings and tourniquet options, and Premium kits add hemostatic dressings such as QuikClot or NuStat and expanded quantities. Choose the tier that matches your written protocol and the number of people the station must treat.
-
Can our district or facility order stations in quantity?
Yes — districts standardizing stations across campuses and facilities outfitting multiple buildings can request an institutional quote covering kits, cabinets and restock components in one order. Purchase orders are accepted on approved accounts.
