The MRI Safe Step Stool is a comfortable height of 8” designed to help users up to 1000lbs on and off of an MRI machine table. The stool's self-leveling anti-slip design keeps users stable when climbing up and down. The stool also features a textured silver vein finish that acts as a protective coating to make the stool virtually maintenance-free.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines use a powerful magnetic field to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Ferromagnetic, which is a high susceptibility to magnetization, metal is not permitted in the room while an MRI is taking place. This is because the magnetic field that is created by the machine can attract that metal. Aluminum is a non-ferromagnetic metal. This MRI safe step stool is an all-aluminum construction that is welded together for stability and longevity of the stool.
This ConvaQuip Bariatric Step Stool is covered with a silver vein powder-coated finish. Powder-coating is done when a product is covered with polyester or epoxy powders and then heated to fuse the powder. This creates a protective layer over the entire product that helps prevent rusting and prolongs the appearance of normal wear and tear.
The angled legs of the stool add to the anti-tip design by extending the footprint of the stool out past the base for a total width of 26” x 20”. The angled leg tips have a rubber cover that keeps the stool firmly in place and prevents sliding on the floor.
