LW Scientific CytoPrep Fix & Dry 5-Slide Cytology Preparation Station
The CytoPrep Fix & Dry is a combination benchtop device that safely heat-fixes cytology preparations and quickly dries slides for rapid microscopy results. Heat-fixing cells onto a slide, especially when preparing ear cytologies or drying a urine slide before staining, helps cells adhere flat to the glass and fully accept stains with minimum wash-off.
Instead of an open flame, the CytoPrep uses a controlled warm surface that holds up to 5 slides and heat-fixes in as little as 1 minute, with no soot to wipe off and no inconsistent flame temperatures. The front platform heats to 115 degrees F (plus or minus 5 degrees).
After staining and rinsing, slides dry in the rear rack in about 1 minute on a warm, gentle air stream, and smears dry in about 30 seconds. The rear drying rack heats air to 99 degrees F (plus or minus 3 degrees), is removable and washable, and ultra-quiet fans keep drying silent. Surfaces are stainless steel.
