The Balanced Aire is a reactive mattress replacement system that pairs foam filled air cells with foam layers to spread body weight over a wider area and lower pressure at the skin. Its self adjusting air cells respond to body weight and pressure on their own, with no pump or power source required, and the cells sit in three separate zones so the head, torso, and legs each get support matched to that part of the body. A hybrid visco foam top layer adds immersion and comfort while helping heat move away from the surface.
This 35 inch wide by 84 inch long version measures 7 inches high and supports up to 500 lb, suiting taller patients in home care and long term care beds. Self adjustment can be set up as open cell or closed cell to meet individual needs, and adding an alternating pressure pump later converts the same mattress into a dynamic powered system. The removable stretch cover is fluid resistant, low shear, and vapor permeable, and the foam and cover are latex free.
