Jorgensen Labs J0240WM Modified Stifle Retractor
This stifle retractor, 7 1/2 inches, is designed for medium and large dogs, the group with the highest incidence of meniscal damage. This improved model has longer jaw tips which are self protecting when the instrument is in the closed position, so it goes in safely and only shows its grip once it is placed.
Once inserted atraumatically into the stifle, distraction exposes the longer tips for maximum grip, and it is the best instrument to examine the caudal horn of the medial meniscus, the part of the joint that is hardest to see. Sized for patients of 15 to 50 kg.
