Jorgensen Labs BOAS Surgery Mouth Gag System: Improved Visualization and Access for Brachycephalic Airway Surgery
The Jorgensen Labs J1708 BOAS Surgery Mouth Gag is designed for brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome surgery. With the rapid increase in brachycephalic breeds such as French bulldogs, more surgeries are being performed to correct the conditions associated with these breeds, and this mouth gag system greatly improves visualization and surgical access.
A fully adjustable tilting base supports the patient's upper body at the desired angle, held steady by sturdy support rods. Two adjustable horizontal bars retain the open mouth in the desired position, with one bar adjustable forwards and backwards. A front-positioned cleat hook allows tie-down of the tongue if desired, and a supporting hook holds the ET tube or anesthetic circuit.
Options on this listing are the J1708 mouth gag stand, replacement tubing for the crossbar (J1708D1), and the J1708K BOAS Mouth Gag Surgery Kit. The stand does not include instruments; the J1708K kit supplies a matched instrument set for use with the mouth gag: J1537 and J1537a soft palate clamps, J0911c Metzenbaum Super Cut curved scissors, J0080b Allis tissue forceps, J0092dv DeBakey delicate tissue forceps, a J0078wtb Mayo Hegar needle holder with tungsten carbide jaws, and a J0041t blue silicone pegged double layer sterilizing tray. The stand can be fully dismantled for cleaning.
